Coal Train -Partially Fitted 60’s – 70’s (00)

This is my attempt at a coal train of 4 wheel vacuum and non fitted wagons. The train comprises of 22 wagons plus a brake van. the first 17 wagons are vacuum fitted and the final 5 are non-fitted. Each one has been weathered to various degrees, from absolutely awful to nearly ex-works. A lot of weathering methods were used from spraying, dry brushing and painting with a little talc to create depth, especially on the rust patches. They are also mixed up in the rake to make it varied when passing.

Freightliner set of 5 (FFA/FGA) OO (2)

This is another set of Hornby super detailed wagons, these are exactly  the same as the previous set. This time the wagons are loaded with the ‘Bulktainers’ of 30′. The main companies using these conatiners are UBC, IBC and IFF, all are included in this rake. Some quite extreme weathering is used on these wagons.

Freightliner Set of 5 (FFA/FGA) OO (1)

Here we have a set of five Hornby super detailed Freightliner wagons based on the late 90’s to early 00’s. The wagons are all weathered the same, but the containers are of sizes 20′ and 40′ and are standard (for the time) with two ‘Tanktainers’ added for interest. You usually see a space or two in the rakes but these Hornby are very old and do not lend themselves easily to vacant spaces. The wagon conversions came as a full kit for five wagons, but I can not remember who did them! During the course of the conversion you lower the bogies on the chassis and these make a much better presentation. The containers are variously weathered and include patchwork painting and general grime/rust.
