Below is a detailed and weathered (Light -Medium) Warship. After a coat of dilute matt black, 80% was wiped off and just left in all crevices to create shadow. Just airbrushing does not work for me. After detailing this loco does not fit back in the original internal packaging – it needs to be trimmed back! Hardly design clever this!!!!!!
Below are three Loco’s that have been weathered, all to a medium standard. I have made an effort to catch up recently, but there is still plenty to do! All the below are Dapol products.
Below we have a Ex Southern Van that has had a quite heavy weathering. The Ex Blue Spot Van is much lighter weathering to ensure they can run together in my era of 1965-70.
This was probably one of the most difficult weathering jobs I have ever done. Although there are quite a lot of photographs, colour photo’s are obviously very rare. I have used a lot of guesswork doing this wagon – I really hope it is as accurate as possible.
Well, after much work the two brake vans and an open wagon are finally finished. Below are the results.
Soon after finishing the livery on the S & T Brake we decided that although a valid livery it looked, well, very red! We had originally dismissed the livery with a full yellow roof as looking a bit ‘loud’, but I repainted the roof and here are the results! I also added the extra piping to the body side that was forgotten. The inner doors and the inside frame were also painted grey as per prototype. The first photo is ‘before’ the rest are ‘after’. 
Here are a batch of five wagons, all are still to be weathered. I have put these wagons on before finishing because several people have asked me to put on some before and after weathering photos.

Here we have a rake of four Dapol B Tanks all weathered slightly differently. As usual I gave the wagons a coat of varnish to protect the tampo printing, before the weathering took place. I spent quite a lot of time studying various photos to ensure they were prototypical.
This is the first of the wagons for a proposed WW1 Trench Layout in SM32. It was made by Graham and painted by myself – it is still to be weathered. It is a Swift Sixteen Kit.
After Graham did some research, the following items appear on youtube – these two videos show all if not most Layouts in the Exhibition. Luckily, our layout ‘Merlins Lane’ appears on both.
