Here we have two wagons made by Graham and painted by myself. They are both to be weathered and will be reposted when finished.
PCA
This is a Skytrex kit that has just been released – Transfers by Railtec.
WGB
This is a kit built wagon – it is in Army livery and was used at and between Army stores country wide – usually travelling in Speedlink trains or dedicated Army moves.
Here are the first two of four Dapol London Transport Tanks. I have re-worked them, renumbered them and removed the Vacuum and Steam pipes. I have to weather them quite heavily and thought I would show a before and after scenario. These will run on the Grub Lane layout.
Grub Lane is the resurrected NCATC Layout – being redone as a London Transport Layout in the late 60’s. I have re-worked the ex BR wagons as LT varieties and am showing them before quite heavy weathering so that the before and after can be judged. I have two more kit wagons to build making a total of six wagons to shunt on the Loco Steam Depot.
Again this Van was made by Graham and Painted and weathered by myself. It will again run on our 4000yards – Area 5. The officers could travel to the front in this Van – better than walking – but hardly luxury.
Here is a Hospital Van made by Graham and painted and weathered by myself. This will run on our WW1 layout 4000 yards – Area 5. These wagons were used to carry the wounded on stretchers from near the front to hospital facilities.
This Class 40 has been modified back to its 1958 condition as much as possible. The Bonnet hand rails have been removed and the nose side handrails have been removed, although this Loco later had them added. The air pipes on the buffer beam were also removed. I have to say that filling the small holes left by the handrails were a real pain. – in the end I made them bigger to achieve a smooth finish.
I carried out my modification to the pony wheels on the bogies to stop unnecessary derailment. If any one is interested in what I do – please contact me and I will post the details.
The Indicator discs have not been fixed to the nose so that various types of trains can be run – they will be attached with a very small piece of ‘Bluetack’.
Another Heljan product purchased by my Son. I think the model looks very good – however I am totally fed up with bits falling of this model – spoils a very good model.
This is a medium weathering job on a ‘out of the box’ product, although unlike the Class 37’s – very little is wrong.
This is my Sons other Class 37 that he runs on his Ashwell Moor. The degree of weathering is similar to the Coal Sector Loco. This Loco is ‘out of the box’ and the mistakes have not been modified, so weathering only.
This is one of my Sons Class 37’s that he runs on his Ashwell Moor layout. It has cleanish sides and noses, but medium weathered bogies, underframe and roof. This is a ‘out of the box’ weathering exercise – no mods done!
This is my sound fitted Class 33 from ‘Merlins Lane’ layout – it is the last loco for this layout that has been weathered, all others being done a while ago.
