Class 56 – Bardon Hill

Heljan O Gauge 56063 – now weathered. Medium Bogies and frames and light sides, I chose this Loco as it was a regular visitor into East Anglia. The Railfreight livery application by Heljan was excellent and took the weathering very well.

31128 Charybdis

This is a conversion of an O Gauge Class 31/4 back to a Class 31/1. 31128 is currently the only Class 31 with a mainline certificate. I stripped all the ETH equipment off the Loco, filled the holes, masked off the area and undercoated and top coated as necessary.

I have now given the Loco a light to medium weathering. Sadly the Heljan 31/4 does not come with snowploughs, so the Loco remains plough-less until I can source some.

Class 37 D6712 Weathered

Here we have an O Gauge Class 37 in ‘as delivered’ livery, about six months into service. It has received a medium weathering on the roof, frames and bogies but the bodyside has only received a light dusting. This assumes that some form of cleaning took place even when shedded alongside the disappearing steam locos. All detailing accessories were added and missing parts sourced and added.

Macintosh 0-6-0T Weathered

My O Gauge Macintosh Tank Engine has now been weathered. It has received a medium coating of grime and a little highlighting. I used my airbrush and a few weathering powders,

Scottish 08 in O Gauge

This is my first first attempt to post on my new Computer – I think I have fathomed it all out – fingers crossed.

I have spent the last two days preparing and weathering ten pieces of O Gauge Stock – here is the first to be finished. This 08 was based at Eastfield and is in 1987 – 89 livery. This is a light to medium weathering.

Farewell ‘LOWE ST’

My OO layout Lowe St. was collected by its new owner this afternoon. The layout was made to look like a sleeper depot in the late 50’s and did several Exhibitions during 2014-2018. This included a ‘Best in Show’ award at the Cambridge Exhibition.

It had been stored several years in my Shed and it did not do as many Exhibitions as it could have, mainly due to my move to O Gauge and the dreaded COVID.

Anyway the sale was agreed and all stock went with the layout. I will leave the layout on our Exhibition layouts page for a while as the new owner is reasonably local and has also agreed to take on its appearance at an Exhibition booked later this year. If anyone would like to book the layout for an Exhibition I will pass any invites on to the owner.

56063 Bardon Hill in O Gauge

This is another of Heljans excellent Class 56. This time it needed numbering and naming, for this loco I chose 56063, it was another regular visitor to East Anglia as it was based at Leicester.

The transfers are Railtec and the nameplates are from Protoneo.

It will again be weathered later.

56110 Croft in O Gauge

This is a standard Heljan release, I have just added the detail pack and enhanced the Loco with Protoneo Nameplates, Arrows and Depot Plates.

As this was a Leicester Loco it ran regularly in East Anglia. I saw it at Kennett, Barham and Norwich in this livery.

It will be weathered later.

Eight O Gauge Wagons

Another catching up session today. This time we are back to O Gauge wagons, I have had these since pre Covid. They are all Dapol and include the latest VEV vans, albeit in pre-tops condition. They are superb and weather very well.
