It has been a very busy weekend at Exhibitions and trips out, however I did manage some more detailing work. I have created the 5th green and 6th tee on the corner of my Golf Club scene, added yet more trees and started to add Cars and HGV’s to the road and Narrow Boats to the river, although these need painting to be finished.

Coopers Update – 5/10/23
I would say I am within a week of finishing the layout after receiving some gifted foliage and flocks. I have now planted another 40 recycled trees and shrubs, that makes over 65 trees now on the layout. About 90% of the railway fence has been completed, but I am running out of wood of the right size and the fine wire I have been using. Anyway below are a few more photos of the last few days work.
Coopers Update – 1/10/23
A few more pictures from yesterday and today. Over 25 re-cycled trees ‘planted’ on the layout and also lots of bushes added. The right hand cutting that leads to the fiddle yard has also been completed. I have also built the colour light signals, but they are yet to be painted. More reeds have been added in the river on one side.
Coopers Update – 29.09.23
I have had two very busy days on the layout. Fitting lineside posts, doing the start of the scenics around the smaller pond and the river and fitting the first five of many trees. The last packet of Ratio fencing turned up, so finished the back field fencing.
Coopers Update 27.9.23
The fencing has now been fitted to the back fields of the layout – still more to do and another packet ordered. The Water Lilies duly arrived and have been planted on the smaller pond – whether I order some for the larger pond is doubtful as they are very expensive! A few photos below to show how adding the fences add dimension to the overall scene. A few vehicles were posed for effect.
Coopers Update – 26.09.23
Work continues on the N gauge layout. I have been concentrating on the Ponds and the River, lots of reeds and weeds added using static grass and grass strips, the fishing pegs were made from N Gauge pallets. I have ordered lily pads and flowers to be added later, another varnish coating or two will be added to the lakes when they are ‘planted’.
Coopers Update – 22/9/23
Well, been working hard on the layout – a lot of static grass used as well as flock and dyed sawdust. Things have started to take shape now that the first layer of scenic work is nearly complete on board one. Board two has been started with the first layer of scenic work, but track still not weathered. I have ordered some more fencing that should arrive next week.
Coopers Update 19/9/23
All the ballasting is now complete, although only 50% is weathered. A start has been made on the static grass, just to see how the colour looks, I am using Autumn Green to start with, but I do have some Summer Green and Winter Green. I have ordered the posts and wire for the railway fencing, some pallets to make fishing stands for the anglers in the ponds, not the river! I have also ordered some 10mm Static grass tufts to form the reed beds in the ponds. Should keep me busy for a few days!
Further ‘Coopers’ Update 17/9
Another busy day on ‘Coopers Common’. All ready for the flock, grass and bushes that should turn up tomorrow, All basecoats are finished, just ballasting and track weathering to complete on half the track then the scenic elements can really start.
Work continues on ‘Coopers’
I have worked about eight hours on Coopers Common today, I have done half the visible track ballasting and weathering, painted the roads first coat, painted the last pond with undercoat and painted distant trees and bushes on the backscene. It is a very slow job making the Kato track look a bit more realistic, under a close look it does not blend well with the ballast, but I’ve done the best I can and I am relatively happy with the result.
