This is a Class 31 that I purchased when the first batch came out several years ago. Only now have I got around to weathering it. I have not changed the exhaust ports to the original engine variety as I may well still do it as a English Electric at a later date. This is a light to medium weathering as it represents a loco not long in service, but still living with steam engines.
I have just got around to weathering my Class 14. I have given it a medium grimy coating as towards the end this class was unloved. I picked the number of the Loco based on one that was a Western Region original but also saw limited service in the Northeast before being withdrawn.
This is a re-number and light weathering. The Loco is a Norwich (32A) loco as seen in the mid 1950’s. It was used for Loco release in the station area.
My two of the new re-vamped Heljan Class 26 arrived a couple of days ago – yesterday I researched appropriate numbers and then added the numbers and Depot stickers.
They will have to get in line for weathering – which will likely be in the new year.
I have now fitted some of my Terriers with ‘Spark Arresters’. These are 3D printed and obtained off Ebay. A bit of a warning though, not all Terriers were fitted, so some research is necessary. Three of my four Terriers were fitted, but one was not.
They will be weathered later.
This is a Bachmann Brass 4F that I have been working on for a few days. It has had a partial repaint and renumbering. The main jobs were to replace the chimney, dome and vacuum and steam pipes, but I also added real coal, a crew and fire irons.
Will be weathered when everything is well and truly dry.
This is a re-weathering job as they came factory weathered. I have to say that Bachmann did a very good job – but they looked very ‘flat’ and a bit ‘light’. I did my usual wash and wipe with Matt Black and then re-sprayed the underframe using four colours rather than the original one colour spray.
Getting the Matt Black in the boarding gaps really brings their appearance to life.
These Brake Vans have been sprat and winkle fitted and weathered. They are to be added to the stock of Lowe St, my recently sold layout which is now owned by Nick.
After selling Lowe St to Nick he has added to his stock – I have spent the last couple of days adding Sprat & winkle couplings to nine wagons and loops to two locos. I have then weathered the lot.
Here are the locos, the wagons will follow in batches of three over the next few days.
