This loco is not one of the current batch, but one of three I purchased in the first batch several years ago. Of the three this is the only one that currently works as the other two have the traditional Heljan gear slip problems – I will seek help and get them replaced before I weather them. I have sprayed the full yellow warning panel on the loco to have something a bit different. This loco has received a medium weathering.
This is a Class 31 that I purchased when the first batch came out several years ago. Only now have I got around to weathering it. I have not changed the exhaust ports to the original engine variety as I may well still do it as a English Electric at a later date. This is a light to medium weathering as it represents a loco not long in service, but still living with steam engines.
I have just got around to weathering my Class 14. I have given it a medium grimy coating as towards the end this class was unloved. I picked the number of the Loco based on one that was a Western Region original but also saw limited service in the Northeast before being withdrawn.
This is a re-number and light weathering. The Loco is a Norwich (32A) loco as seen in the mid 1950’s. It was used for Loco release in the station area.
I have now fitted some of my Terriers with ‘Spark Arresters’. These are 3D printed and obtained off Ebay. A bit of a warning though, not all Terriers were fitted, so some research is necessary. Three of my four Terriers were fitted, but one was not.
This is a Bachmann Brass 4F that I have been working on for a few days. It has had a partial repaint and renumbering. The main jobs were to replace the chimney, dome and vacuum and steam pipes, but I also added real coal, a crew and fire irons.
Will be weathered when everything is well and truly dry.
After selling Lowe St to Nick he has added to his stock – I have spent the last couple of days adding Sprat & winkle couplings to nine wagons and loops to two locos. I have then weathered the lot.
Here are the locos, the wagons will follow in batches of three over the next few days.
This was a purchase from a big online auction site by one of my friends. It was said to be Very Good and Boxed – in truth it was less than that – in fact a lot less. There was missing bits – there was broken bits – and after a couple of initial good running session – the motor stopped and would not work.
When I took the body off to check the wiring – five bits dropped out of the chassis – this included two bits that were originally missing. How did a sand box get inside the body!
After I attached two wires that had come adrift – it ran again. I would say it took at least four hours to get most things re-attached, or duplicates made. Sadly, even now there are still a couple of things missing.
I then had to strip off the original transfers as none were level and then I removed the makers plates that had been added in the wrong position with overzealous amounts of super glue.
I resprayed the mended areas, added new transfers and varnished the rehashed areas. I then gave the loco a medium to heavy weathering.
This is a loco I purchased a long time ago. I super detailed it and used it on my steam depot layout of the time ‘Alex Bridge’. When I sold the layout and most of its stock, this Loco was overlooked and not sold. I have now given the loco a light weathering before moving on to its new owner.
