I have recently sold some more of my OO steam Locos. All have been renumbered, had the first BR logo added and weathered, ranging from light to medium. All these locos visited Cambridge during the early – mid fifties.

I was given a Industrial J94 in Blue and Yellow Livery – I was asked to produce this Loco as it worked at Chesterton Junction, Cambridge in 1946 to 1952. I was given a couple of B & W photos and some research notes. The friend that gave me this task remembered this Loco when he was a lad in the late 40’s.

The transfers were purchased from Railtec and paints were Humbrol and Railmatch.

I must admit I had never heard of this Loco until approached to repaint and model it. I was told it only worked on MOD traffic within the large yard confines.

This what I started with.

This Class of Loco had a ‘nickname’ and were called ‘Night Owls’ as they mainly worked heavy freights during the night. It was not unusual for them to work Summer Passenger trains as well and were masters of both. This is a heavy weathering and shows signs of many nights work.

This is a loco I weathered for Ian Hammond a couple of weeks ago. Ian did a complete rebuild and repaint, renumber and name on this Loco. It is destined for our dear friend Mike Boutle in a weeks time – enjoy Mike.

Still trying to catch up with my weathering jobs – here is a couple I did this afternoon.

This was a re-numbering and weathering job from my Mate Mike. When they arrived the O1 was in LNER and the O4 was in ROD livery, both in OO. The O1 is weathered to a medium standard and the O4 was to a heavy standard including some large rust patches. The usual Airbrushing and dry-brushing was used.

This is a single OO Loco that I added to my O Gauge weathering run. It is a light to medium with lots of hard water scaling.
