I did mention my problem with having spaces behind the revitalised layout due to a wall buttress causing spaces behind the layout. I have decided to both fill the gaps and add a backscene in one go. I think the photos below are self explanatory on how I am progressing this work. This will give an extra three inches for scenic details. I intend to hand paint the backboard with enamel paints.
